The Breakfast Jar
June 18th • Posted in Recipe

With Summer coming around, all I want to have for breakfast is iced coffee and something quick and ready I could also eat on-the-go. That’s why and when chia puddings and breakfast jars started sounding very appealing to me! I know, I’m kind of late with the trend, but I love being able to quickly put together a little breakfast healthy “dessert” in no time at all and pop it out all ready and done first thing in the morning, ready to be topped with fresh fruits and crunchy nuts.
And you can basically re-create all sorts of flavours and layers as well. As much as I love my usual vanilla chia pudding, I’m itching to try something different, so won’t really be bothered with an extra teaspoon or two of cocoa powder next time!
But here is how I’m liking to prepare mine so far…

Make sure your jar is big enough so that your pudding will full only up to 3/4 of the space – you want to have enough room for your fruits and nuts toppings and be able to close the lid and bring your jar around on-the-go.
Doses for one serving…

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1/2 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1 teaspoon raw brown sugar
- 4-5 small strawberries
- Nuts or granola to top
Instructions
01 :: Simply pour the vanilla soy milk into a small jar together with the chia seeds and brown sugar. Give it a nice stir with a spoon and close the lid to give the jar a good shake.
02 :: Pop the jar in your fridge and let it sit overnight. Chia seeds will thicken the liquid turning it into a fresh and healthy pudding!
03 :: In the morning remove your pudding from the fridge, chop 4-5 small strawberries into halves and use them to top the pudding. Also add nuts and/or granola on the top and enjoy immediately or close the lid and bring your breakfast jar around as you fancy!
