Daily Dose Of Greens

Daily Dose Of Greens

I’ve never been one who have found some sort of interest into supplements by any means, so I was a little reluctant when I was firstly introduced to the new VITL Greens. But I knew the brand since a while and have had the pleasure of working with them at a couple of recipes in the past, and after having a quick look at the ingredients, I was sold even before coming to the “all-natural, vegan, gluten free” point!

VITL Greens are in fact all-natural supplements to help you implement extremely good for you superfoods into your diet. Each sachet contains up to 19 superfoods, extremely healthy and good for both immune health, energy levels but also skin, nails and hair health, including between the others maca, tumeric, goji berries, seagreens, spirulina, green tea, kale leaf and much more!

The one thing I was quite concerned about at first was the extra dark and deep green colour of the powder and ‘what will it taste like?’. I’ll be honest when saying I wasn’t the biggest fan of the taste at first, but I was surprised that it didn’t taste bitter in the slightest! But with some testing and trials, I’ve actually come to enjoy the taste quite a bit! Especially into very cold water, maybe with the addition of a couple of ice cubes – just perfect for this Summer heat!

I’ve been having one dose of Greens every single day since a I got them 3-4 weeks ago, and I’m extremely happy about them. I’ve been experimenting with recipes (especially smoothies) to have them with, and what I love the most is that they’re giving my body a chance to digest some of the foods I wouldn’t otherwise ever eat, like kale or broccoli, that are surely not my favourites, but also seaweeds and beetroot, that I don’t think body have ever known before!

My number one favourite way of implementing VITL Greens in my diet though, is by popping them in my smoothies. I rarely enjoy green smoothies, so anything that could make them taste a little bit better is totally up my street and the fact that VITL Greens are vanilla flavoured gives them a whole bunch of brownie points! I’d blend them with some banana, dates and some other fruits and I’d be good to go.

Recently though, after some more testing, I’ve come up with the most delicious vegan chocolate smoothie recipe of them all, and I couldn’t refrain me from sharing it in this post today! This recipe makes for the best indulging and intense chocolate smoothie, only featuring all-natural ingredients, good for your body and health! Thick, chocolate-y, dark but sweet! The dates naturally sweeten the mixture, but if you like things on the sweet side I’d suggest to add a splash of agave syrup.

This recipes is for one serving.

Casual Tops For A Summer Holiday { ft. FashionMia }

August 8th  •  Posted in Style

Let’s talk Summer holiday plans, shall we?

Summer is just passing by way too quickly this year – it’s probably due to the fact we’ve seen more thunderstorms than sunny days up until one month ago, and that I haven’t found myself properly enjoying summertime as you’d be supposed to (with a few days off and, possibly, also sand between your toes), but I can’t seem to tune in on Summer properly!

And this makes me even more excited about a small vacation we’re going to be on in just a couple of weeks. I can’t wait, you can’t even imagine! We’re not going very far away this year, but instead we’ve decided to keep exploring the beautiful country we live in and have a tour of Tuscany beaches and coves: lots of road trips are in the plans, together with sand and sea salt and, possibily, the occasion of finally switching off. And you’ll see from my next posts, how crazy I went with shopping for this vacation – because, let’s face it, shopping for beachwear is just so much fun!

When I was introduced to FashionMia, and after being introduced to their amazing selection of women tops, I feel again the urge of buying new things I would totally get a lot of wear during my little Italian vacation (don’t you think?). I totally felt in love with that amazing lacey piece, so detailed and romantic! Mine is a little section of tops that would work wonderfully with the type of vacation I like, which usually includes lot of beach time and small exploring in-between, but at FashionMia they also have a big selection of cheap tops for any style and occasion really, you can’t totally go wrong with it!

My Weekend Pampering Routine

August 5th  •  Posted in Beauty

My Weekend Pampering Routine

I always begin these “pampering routine” posts like this, but I really am not one that loves to just sit there with face masks on for a couple of hours and do absolutely nothing. Or just feel like I’m wasting my time. That’s why I hardly really find time to pamper myself at all most of the times, however lately, after feeling way too constricted by working 24/7 for weeks, I decided I’d reserve my Saturday mornings to myself and nothing else.

I would take my time to do the breakfast I fancy, and not on a rush as I’d usual do, then shower and put a nice but quick face mask on, keep on top of my body hairs and eyebrows (especially) duties and then remember myself of popping some nail polish I like on my nail and maybe also to not be as lazy and apply a nicely scented body butter all over – because I know I like how my skin smells and feels right afterwards!

Recently my skin is not having the best time, with the heat always leaving it a sweaty oily mess and the temperature leaps causing bad breakouts all the time. On my face I’ve been loving my old favourite Antipodes Aura Mask, a 100% naural all-in-one mask I love for treating blemishes and breakouts thanks to the antibacterial properties of the Manuka honey, but also for re-hydrating my skin without leaving it oily or greasy by any means. And its scent is a combination of mandarin and vanilla, and it’s probably not possible to describe at words how nice and relaxing it is!

In the meanwhile I leave on my face mask, I’ve been loving to treat myself to a mini manicure! It might sound extreme, but I very rarely take some time to properly fix my nails and put some nail polish on, so this is a big deal for me! As for nail polishes, I love anything that stays on for 4-6 days without needing any touch-ups as I rarely can be bothered with re-painting my nails in the middle of the week. The L’Oreal Color Riche Nail Polishes are something I would totally recommend for their amazingly opaque and long-lasting formula (the two shades in picture are Parisian Rooftops and You are worth it and they are both amazing!).

A product that won’t ever be missed in my pampering routine, whether it’s in the evening or in the morning, is the L’Occitane Relaxing Pillow Mist, which I actually use more as a proper room spray everynight but also whenever I fancy switching off and recreating a relaxing atmosphere in my room. It smells like lavender fields with a touch of sweet orange and bergamot – it’s just the most calming scent ever.

And lastly, the body butter I would usually pick is the Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Souffle Body Creme, that smells and feels as fancy as it sounds once massaged into the skin! I’m a lover of sweet scents and there’s really nothing that can beat smelling like a creme brulee for a couple of days (yes, it lasts that long) to me! I’m usually that lazy that I would skip the body moisturizer step, but I actually deeply love taking some time to apply this one on my legs and arms.

And that’s basically it, my short and sweet weekend pampering routine! Hopefully this will find any of you who feels a bit down recently and inspire you to treat yourself this weekend!

How do you get along with finding time to pamper yourself? x
