In May I've Loved...

Whoa, May has been HECTIC! I know I say this basically every month, but seriously, I can’t remember one single time I stopped for a moment this month. It was full. So full of events, work, things and also favourites! So here are a few things I’ve loved this month…

In May I've Loved...
In May I've Loved...

I’ve eyed up Frank Body scrubs a little while ago but having so many scrubs to go through already, I decided to give them a go only recently. Being my first time with their products, their The Grind High Club kit sounded so appealing to me, giving me the chance to try out four different mini coffee scrubs at a great price! I love their brand ethics and their vegan non-chemical products: the smell of each of the options in the kit is simply sublime (!) and, although it can be quite messy, I deeply enjoyed the experience of getting dirty covering myself in coffee grind.

If you’re a reader of this blog, you’d know I’ve been avoiding parabens in haircare products since a couple of years now. Finding good quality paraben-free shampoos haven’t been difficult to me at all, and I’ve grown a deep love for the Garnier Ultimate Blends range, the lavender and rose shampoo in particular, especially great on my oily locks. But recently I’ve been wanting to have a backup shampoo to rely on and to alternate my usual shampoo of choice with, to avoid my scalp getting used to a product in particular and start working against it – since I’ve been using the same shampoo for a very long time now.

When the new Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Soother shampoo was launched I knew I wanted to give it a try – probably mainly made curious about the scent (which is really amazing and sweet, just how I like my shampoo to be!) and the fact it’s meant to work amazing on sensitive scalp, and yes, I deal with that too. And I wasn’t wrong in the slightest: this shampoo leaves my hair extremely soft and clean, but it’s gentle in its scent but also formula. It’s a such a special treat to use!

In May I've Loved...

I’m not the biggest fan of bright lips on myself, I usually go for nudes and hardly try to be the centre of attention by popping some colour on my lips, but this month, aided by the fact that summer is literally around the corner, I got tired of natural lip shades and went “shopping” into my makeup drawer to find and rediscover some nice bright shades I’ve wore twice and then hidden in the back corner of said drawer for months.

This time I’m back in love with my NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Lodhi, a slightly orange-y warm coral shade that looks so appealing to me right now. I remember now why I love this lip pencil: being so long-lasting on my lips, I hardly have to worry about if my lipstick has gone somewhere inappropriate even when eating, plus it adds a pretty but not too eccentric pop of colour even to the most simple of makeup looks!

I’ve talked about these in details in a recent post, but I couldn’t not mention them between this month’s favourites, because I have thrown them on as soon as I got them through the mail and haven’t stopped wearing them ever since, if not when I sadly needed them to be in the washer. I call my Topshop Pretty Blue Mom Jeans the perfect “#Girlboss jeans” just because they really are my favourites to wear everyday while working from home, being so comfy but looking pretty smart in the meanwhile!

I bet you’ll be tired to see me wearing them in each of my Instagram pictures, but I really can’t help…

In May I've Loved...

I’ve talked about Namastey already in my Rome city guide, but this last month I’ve quickly built a love for their Genmaicha Green Tea. I can honestly say I’ve tried a whole lot of teas in my life but this is different from anything I tried so far: it tastes deep and nutty with puffed rice and toasted corn, definitely something a little bit particular but because of that it has quickly become my favourite thing to drink in the middle of my afternoons! I’m so glad this has been suggested to me by the girl at Namastey, she was so right!

In May I've Loved...

And lastly but not at least, how couldn’t I go without mentioning Games of Thrones between my favourites this month! I’m kind of up to date with the new episodes now (although I struggle to find time to watch them lately, I’m always way too tired in the evening to hit the bed and stay awake for more than 5 minutes!) and I’m loving Season 6 as much as I’ve loved all the others! But this season is feeling less static and more eventful already, which is so great!

I won’t go into details just in case any of you hasn’t watched just yet, but if you haven’t just know you totally should!!

And that’s a wrap! Would love to know what’s been on your May favourites list this month! x

In April I've Loved...

In April I've Loved...

I’m typing this post a week in advance, so I feel legitimated to write about the “oh how time flies” cliché! It’s probably because my weeks are so hectic and full of work and stuff, that I feel like time is going by too fast (while the things I tick off the to-do list aren’t really…) or because Spring makes me very excited about plans and future, that I went into my blog archive to link posts and I felt it was yesterday I wrote a post that went live on February… and now it’s almost May… or that we book our travel in Rome and we’re heading off in a couple of days already!

But enough time-related rambles! Here are a few things I’ve loved during the month of April…

In April I've Loved...

The Green Balm – MOA

Beauty

I’ve been a cleansing balms lover for a very long time, but it was about a couple of years I haven’t bought any! I don’t remember how I found out about MOA – probably while I was stalking social medias as I remember me being all “oohh” and “aahh” when I discovered their website and placing an order 2 seconds later from my phone! And I bought a cleansing balm, yes!

Their Green Balm in the Daily Cleansing Ritual duo, to be precise! As all their products, their Green Balm is vegan and 100% natural; it features great oils for the skin like almond and coconut oil, promises to remove all the makeup without the help of any other products and it’s suitable for all skin types (although I avoid to apply it on my oily forehead)! I love that it’s thick and hydrating and the bamboo face cloth is special! Soft and such a pleasure to use!

Samphia Blouse – Poppy Lux ; Lily Pad Ballet Flats – ASOS

Style

With the excuse we were going to fly off to Rome this month, and the fact that my wardrobe felt a little bit naked after my latest Spring cleaning session, and also yes, the fact that ASOS was having their mid-season sales going on, I thought April was the perfect month to implement some new Spring staples into my wardrobe!

As soon as I spotted the Poppy Lux Samphia Blouse in the ASOS sales I knew I had to have it (if it sells out, check back in a few days – someone might return some, but I won’t!): the vintage pattern is perfect for springtime and brings a pop of colour into my monochrome wardrobe, while the pleated collar is the cutest thing – it reminds me of this petal collar blouse I can’t wait to wear this summer! I already know I’ll wear it on skirts and jeans and trousers all Spring long!

I’ve also dusted off my ASOS Lily Pad Nude Ballet Flats that I’ve been wearing non-stop this month as they pairs with literally everything and always make any outfit nice and put together with zero effort!

BAKAREN Phone Holder – IKEA ; Relaxing Pillow Mist – L’Occitane

Home

I’ve popped into IKEA (again!) this month and ended up buying some more stuff for the desk (a pretty vintage-y vase for fresh flowers included!), but I’ve fallen in love with their BAKAREN Phone Holder and thought it would look pretty perfect on my desk. I wasn’t wrong! I love it… It has a cable hole and everything, you know!

And, since I have had some difficulties with falling asleep lately, I’ve also been loving the L’occitane Relaxing Pillow Mist and to spray it all around the room a bit more than necessary, if I have to be completely honest! I love the sweet and herbal scent of lavender, bergamot and geranium paired with orange and mandarin – it’s lovely and calming and relaxing. If you are after a pillow/room mist, do yourself a favour and check this out!

In March I've Loved...

In March I've Loved...

OK. Where is time going?! We’re already totally and completely into Spring and Easter is already over, the days are longer and warmer, and it’s not that I’m not happy about that, but 2016 seems so full of things happening too fast and news, and changes and time seems to fly faster than usual this year! I’ve enjoyed March, it has been – not very good but – nice, so here are a few things I’ve loved this month…

In March I've Loved...

Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm ; Lush Love Lettuce Fresh Mask

Beauty

My lips are as chapped and dry lately as they have never been in wintertime – I don’t know what’s going on but I really can’t go without a thick layer of lip balm on these days. Luckily my all time favourite Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm came to the rescue every single evening this month and it has not left my bedside table for a single second. If you haven’t tried it yourself yet, or haven’t read about it: it’s the thickest, most moisturising and rich lip balm on the market, jam-packed with honey and shea butter, the very best to treat chapped lips! I can totally see the difference in the morning if I forget to apply it the night before!

On other news, I’ve popped into Lush recently and brought home one of their fresh masks, Love Lettuce, one I’ve never tried before. It’s a combination of moisturising, exfoliating and soothing properties with agar seaweed gel, almond oil, honey, lavender oil and almond shells. It actually was quite a blessing this one was suggested to me by the girl at Lush, as my skin is feeling a little bit gross and oilier than usual, and the presence of kaolin in this mask helps with removing the excess oil while also brightening the complexion. All of this in 5-10 minutes!

In March I've Loved...
Life

It has been a long while I took some time to catch up with my favourite TV series and it felt lovely to watch a few episodes of Girls in a row (although binge-watching can become quite an addiction to me!). I’ve always loved Girls but the new season is simply amazing: maybe it’s because of Japan, or just the fact that I’ve never loved Jessa as a character but in this season she is lovely…! But I won’t spoil anything else – just catch up with it if you haven’t already, it’s lovely!

In the meanwhile I’ll admit I’m liking to munch on chocolate of all sorts but in particular these Lindt Hello Cookies & Cream Chocolates* – just because they have the sweetest creamy (and crunchy at the same time) center, and if there’s something I want to treat myself to lately, that’s surely chocolate – I blame it on Easter!

Food

Lately we’ve been experimenting with homemade juicing quite a lot and since we don’t love to throw away any of the puree we’re left with after putting all our fruits and veggies in a juice extractor, we like to come up with a few impromptu biscuit recipes to use up them all. The ones in picture were my personal favourites, simply made with 150g of fruits puree (I believe it was of carrots, oranges, lemons and also ginger), 150g whole wheat flour, chocolate chips, 50g sugar and 40ml seed oil – that’s it! But I’m going to share a very similar recipe soon on here – and those are even better!

Forever21 Open-Front Cardigan ; Forever21 Triangle Bra

Style

At the beginning of the month I went on the hunt for long (but not too much as I’m pretty short) thick cardigans to transition my outfits from Winter to Spring. It wasn’t easy, but when I spotted these Forever21 Textured Open-Front Cardigans I knew I had to have them and bought two of them. I wasn’t wrong as they have been the perfect addition to my wardrobe lately and I’ve been wearing them non-stop ever since I got them: they’re the perfect combination of cozy, practical, soft and casual which make them great to top off literally any outfit! And I love the taupe/cream and burgundy/navy colour combinations!

While I was at it, and since I’ve bought one Forever21 soft bra before and it’s been my favourite for a while, I thought I’d indulge in a new triangle bra: their soft bras are the most comfortable I’ve tried so far and I don’t know if it’s just my body shape, but they fit me like a glove! Totally worth looking into them if you’re after new nice soft corset or triangle bras!
