In February I've Loved...

Can’t really believe how quickly February flew by: not really complaining because the coming of March means Spring is around the corner (I’m done with winter!) and Easter is next month and sunny days can finally roll on, but it seems like yesterday that I was typing my January favourites! Here’s what I’ve loved this month…

Kolleen Point Lace Wrap Flat Shoes – Pieces

I’ve always admired girls who looked lovely in pointed shoes and have fallen completely in love with the lace/wrap shoes trend lately, so when I spotted these beauties in the ASOS sales this month I thought, even if it would have implied stepping out of my comfort zone, I should have given them a go! And weirdly enough they look good on me (I would have never believed it!): I’m excited to wear them next month with tights and skirts/dresses as well in warmer month with bare legs and feet at their very best.

Sylt Blabar Blueberry Jam – IKEA ; Jamnt Mug – IKEA ; Sencha Cherry Rose Tea ℅ Dunedin Tea

You know me and my obsession for teas. And mugs. I’ve been completely fully in love with Dunedin Sencha Cherry Rose Tea* this month and I’m very sad to say the cup in the picture was the very last one as I’m already out of it! This one is just the most amazingly-tasting green tea, with a hint of roses and a delicious fruity cherry aroma. And the mug is from IKEA and is my new very favourite – love the pattern as well as the fact that it’s bigger than usual (means more tea for me!).

I’m not usually a jam fan at all, yet this month we decided to give the organic blueberry jam from IKEA a whirl and… I am obsessed. This is the most delicious jam I’ve ever tasted, super sweet, intense in flavour, rich and with small blueberry pieces still in it. I would eat spoonful of it just out of the jar if it was decent! Did you know IKEA not only does the very cutest homeware but also the best food? No? Well, give it a try!

Greeting Cards ℅ Greeting Card Universe ; Copic Ciao Markers

Last month I was introduced to Greeting Card Universe, an online shop selling a huge amount of greeting cards you wouldn’t even imagine such a big amount existed. I was fascinated by their idea of going back to pen and paper in this digital era, and still enjoy the art of writing greeting cards in so many occasions. Plus there are cards for any tastes really! I’ve loved having them by my desk and the idea of have a bunch of them always ready for any occasions. And they’re all super adorable.

This month I decided to finally give the Copic Ciao Markers a go: I’m not only using them to make my notepads cuter, but also to remember myself to sketch a more. As you might know I’m a designer and illustrator and obviously illustrate quite a lot for work, but I often forget about drawing and painting just for myself. I’m really enjoying it as an activity to treat myself a little bit recently, plus these markers are just the very best to fake watercolour effects and just make sketches more interesting!

Cherry Blossom Hand Cream – L’Occitane ; You’re A Peach Phone Case – Miel Café x Casetify

On the beauty front, how can’t I avoid to talk about this L’Occitane hand cream? I know, I’m mentioning it in every post recently, but it has made me enjoy putting on a hand cream every evening which has never happened in my whole life, so it must be a good one, right? I love that it’s not too thick or greasy yet it hydrates at the very right point. Plus it smells amazing and it makes the only act of applying it in the evening feel such a lovely treat!

Lastly but not at least, my You’re A Peach Phone Case is my top favourite of the month: yes, I’ve designed it myself and my phone is very proudly wearing it since the beginning of the month! Casetify’s phone cases quality is always top-notch and I’m just so happy about how the design turned out! If you want to check out my other designs you can find them over here as usual (and keep your eyes peeled because a very yummy collection is on its way!).

And that’s about it, my February favourites all rounded up!
Would really love to know what’s on your favourites list this month! x

In August I've Loved...

After a month of no-make-up days, wearing only bikinis and beach cover ups and packing only what I feel comfortable in, there haven’t been that many new discoveries this month, but here are some favourites anyway!

In August I've Loved...

Nail Polish – Ciaté Encore ; Sun Lotion – Silk Hydration by Hawaiian Tropic

I’ve got this Ciaté nail polish in a Christmas set together with other festive colours and glitters, however its slight orange tone made it perfect for summer nails. It laid on my toes the entire month, without even needing any retouches, and I painted my nails with it several times. It’s the perfect color to go with literally every outfit, and it’s stunning with a tan!

If there’s one thing that’s important to me about skincare is SPF, and if there’s one thing that’s essential about SPFs is the right consistency and scent, and this Hawaiian Tropic Sun Lotion ticks all the boxes. Never too thick but silky and hydrating, smelling deliciously sweet and disappearing in the skin as you apply it without any anti-aesthetic residue.

Beach bag – Similar

Shall we talk beach bags?! I’ve a thing for stripes, that’s for sure, and navy too. So when I spotted this Stradivarius beach bag (similar) in the sales, and knowing I’d have needed one as my previous beach bag was old, boring and pretty worn-out, I couldn’t help but get it! And I’ve loved it all month long.

During our staying there we spotted this amazing artist a couple of times and found ourselves standing behind his canvas admiring him working and illustrating the most different kind of people. I couldn’t help but notice the smile on his face when working, and since then we’ve decided we needed one of his works in our lifes. So we asked for an illustration of ourselves and we’re completely in love with the realist but fun result!

Also, this month I’ve discovered waterproof phone cases: what a gem if you don’t feel so sure about leaving your phones (and money too) on the beach while walking on the foreshore or immersing in the sea… but also for taking pictures in the water too!

In August I've Loved...

On the homeware front, I’ve been after one of those ceramic eggs holders for a while, so when we spotted one in red in a cozy ceramics boutique, my eyes started shining! I can’t wait to see it in action in our future kitchen!

In April I’ve Loved…

Along with the banana, strawberries, honey and lemon smoothies I’m getting into the habit to drink every afternoon, these are the things that I’ve loved in April…

Yummy Mummy Shower Gel & Body Conditioner ℅ Lush.

My skin has been so sensitive, itchy and problematic that I’m blessing the existence of gentle natural body products, the only ones I can actually put on my skin nowadays! My favourite shower combination of the moment comes under the name of Yummy Mummy, in both shower gel and body conditioner form: the range is available now at Lush exclusively for Mother’s Day, and I can’t think of a better gift to give to a mum! The scent is sweet and floral with geranium and orange notes, the shower gel has some pretty silver glitters in there (which doesn’t stick to the skin, but shine while you’re foaming it up on your body) and the body conditioner contains organic cocoa butter which makes it such a good moisturizer without feeling sticky or thick on the skin. I probably need to stock on these two before they’re gone!

In April I've Loved...

I’ve always been such a fan of Bioderma that I wasn’t able to think of switching it up with something different one day. I haven’t changed the typology of the product at all, but one day, in desperate need of a makeup remover that was a bit cheaper than my usual choice, I picked up the Garnier alternative – this is how I got to cynically try the Garnier micellar water to discover it’s actually a valid alternative to other expensive offerings. It’s as gentle as Bioderma and as good to remove my makeup (even though I’ll always be partial to my beloved Bioderma, you know!).

As I said, my skin is being very dull and problematic over all my body, so it came the day when I stopped using all those alcoholic deodorant that were just a torture to me and got back to my Natural Organic Deodorant by Earth Conscious. It smells like lavender and comes in a creamy consistency that is extremely easy to apply. It doesn’t last as long as other non-natural deodorants, but it doesn’t ever cause itchiness or redness on my skin, which is a huge bonus!

I remember featuring these shoes in my first spring wishlist this year: I’ve spotted them months ago and kept my eyes on them ever since, until they went on sale and I received a 10% off coupon via email – it was meant to be. Not only they turned out to be the cutest shoes I own, but also the comfiest softest pair I could ever wish for! They’re made of soft real leather, and there’s something about the colours that make them perfect to be paired with any spring outfit really!

IKEA 365+ Glasses & Coasters.

Since the day I’ve spotted and bought this glass set, I’ve been obsessed: they even inspired a couple of DIY projects, but not only that, they’re also super pretty to drink coffee or smoothies in! I love the simplicity of the clear glass and the cork coaster combination, so much that I have a feeling I’ll be adding more similar homeware to the collection!
